We are a passionate team of artisan-lovers and fashion thinkers, united by a simple belief: India's most beautiful textile traditions deserve to be worn every single day.
Our Beginning
A Love Letter to
Chikankari
Better Fashions was founded with a single question: why is one of the world's most beautiful embroidery traditions still not accessible to everyday women? Chikankari — that delicate, time-consuming, shadow-play of needle and thread — has graced royalty for over three centuries. Yet its artisans remained underpaid and underappreciated.
We set out to change that. By partnering directly with master artisans from the old galis of Lucknow, we cut out the middlemen and created a brand that is fair to artisans, affordable for customers, and beautiful by design.
Today, Better Fashions works with 50+ skilled artisan families, offers 500+ handcrafted styles, and has delivered joy to over 12,000 homes across India and beyond. Every piece you buy supports a family, preserves a tradition, and tells a story.

The magic of Chikankari lives in the hands of our artisans. Most learned this craft from their mothers and grandmothers. Each stitch is a memory, each motif a conversation with tradition.
We visit them in their homes in Chowk, Nakhas, and the old lanes of Lucknow. We listen to their needs, pay them fairly, and make sure their voices shape our collections.

How We Grew
The First Kurta
Better Fashions begins with a single handcrafted kurta and a Instagram post. 47 orders in the first week. We knew we were onto something.
The Website Launches
Our first e-commerce store goes live. We partner with 12 artisan families and launch 80 designs. The response is overwhelming.
1,000 Customers Milestone
Through word-of-mouth alone, Better Fashions reaches 1,000 customers. We expand our artisan network and introduce the Nooreen Collection.
International Shipping
Better Fashions begins shipping to the USA, UK, Canada, and UAE. Lucknow's craft finds a global audience.
